Pilgrimage hikes date back to the Middle Ages when the destinations were places like Jerusalem and Nidaros (Trondheim), while today there are several pilgrimage routes around the world. Then as now, however, it is healing for both body and soul when the silence, the slow pace and the beautiful nature invite reflection. In other words, a much-needed break from the intense world around us.
