A beauitiful Chile in the vicinity of Uddevalla, with nature reserves, a shell-gravel museum and a large outdoor recreation area.

Stage 13 on Bohusleden runs between Glimmingen and Burusjön in Uddevalla municipality.

From Glimmingen, in the northern direction, it is about 800 meters to the Bäveån Nature Reserve, world-unique for its 20-meter-deep shell bank, then the world's deepest and largest. However, an extensive cover business has tainted the bank as well as changed the landscape and thus the conditions for life.

Here you will find the Bäveån river and the small lake Surveln, both remnants of the ancient and mighty Uddevalla Sound, which connected the Baltic Sea with the North Sea, before the Baltic Sea water found its present route between the south coast and Denmark. Now Bäveån is quietly winding through the nature reserve, which has been restored in recent years to further improve the conditions for a rich flora and fauna, especially bird life.

The continued hike follows closely in parts of lake Stora Köperöd, where there is a hut/shelter for breaks or overnight.

Soon the trail takes a turn towards the south, down to the nature reserve Skalsbankarna, the world's largest known shell gravel bank. At least 400 vascular plants are grown on the calcareous soils of the reserve. attracts a rich butterfly fauna. In the Museum, which is open during part of the year, and on information signs in the nature reserve there is further information. Right In the vicinity of the museum there are public transport stops.

The continued hike north along the Bohusleden Trail leads to Bjursjön where the next section begins.
