Stages 2-6 are part of the Swedish Tourist Association's "Signature Trail Gothenburg", which is particularly beautiful, selected and quality assured through the Swedish Tourist Association.
A new bridge has been built at Ramsjön. The old suspension bridge is closed and is only entered at your own risk.
The fifth section of the Bohusleden Trail runs between Jonsered in Partille and Angereds kyrka in Göteborg. This section provides a walk through a beech woodland in Bokedalen Nature Reserve. In the spring it is incredibly beautiful here, when the ground is a carpet of wood anemones.
At Jonsered Estate, the Trail divides into two separate routes which meet up again by Freden croft. At Freden croft there is a toilet, water and a shelter suitable for spending the night here. The western route, on the old road and through the ravine landscape, is a shorter walk of about 20 minutes. The eastern route runs past the swimming area at by the shore of Lake Aspen and is a bit more demanding. Here you go through magical old growth woodland.
From Freden croft, the Trail continues northwards, over a hanging bridge between Lakes Stora and Lilla Ramsjön, towards Angered. Periodically it is completely silent, but as you near Angered, the sounds from the nearby town can be heard.
Surface: This section is a mix of asphalt road, dirt road and forest path.
Approximate Time: It takes about 5 hours to walk this section of the trail.
Not to be missed: The beautiful beech forest near Jonsered train station. A visit to this old church in Angered.
How to get here: It is easy to get to both Jonsered and Angereds kyrka by car or public transport. The train station in Jonsered is right next to the trail and the bus stop Angereds kyrka is served by bus from central Gothenburg.
For more information on how to get to the sections, please see the map planning tool and select transport.
Accommodation: For suggestions on accommodation, please see the map planning tool and select accommodation.
There is no accommodation in Angered. The suggestion is to take there bus to Gothenburg for accommodation and then back again the following day.
