You leave Lilla Edet and follow the path across the river to Ström lock. You will probably linger at both the lock area and the castle grounds. The trail continues along the river, past the soccer field and mixed housing. After 200 meters on road 2025, the old dirt road winds through the meadows and on over Uxåsen. A marked detour and you can have a picnic with a wonderful view. You reach the nature reserve Brattorpsån, which is an idyll in the truest sense of the word. Stay here and enjoy. Follow the river. Sit down and take it easy. Continue whenever you want. On the other side of the river are the beautifully situated farms in Brattorp. Follow fägatan up to Hjärtum on the hill towards Götaälv.
Just before Hjärtum, there is a remnant stone that recalls the forest planting in the early 20th century. In the red building next to the church, today there is a community center and an interesting local museum. Hjärtum is a lovely place. It is said that there is room for the heart here. The place holds many stories and here there has been a home for tired housewives as well as an orphanage. The heart ax is another famous celebrity in the area and long ago another celebrity is said to have visited the area. Queen Christina. There is a myth that she sought accommodation here and what happened when she was refused accommodation at a place. Go there to find out the rest.
There is so much to learn and the old country road takes your steps towards the beautifully situated village of Sollum. At Sollumsån, there have been mills, sawmills and power plants. A beautiful place. The buildings have been piously restored. When you then continue along pastures and meadows, it is easy to get the feeling of being in the Irish countryside. The trail continues past the "Stenkonstgården" Nedre Torp and if you're lucky they have rooms for the night. Before Utby and the next stage, you move up towards the farm Tomten and further over Långberget.
