From the salty sea at Ljungskile to woods, lakes and a beautiful waterfall.
The starting point and destination for this section is the train-station in Ljungskile.
Here the walk is described counterclockwise. However, the route is marked in both directions, so the choice is yours in which direction to walk.
Continue across the railway crossing. With the station building in the back, you see in one of the pillars the first signs marking of the circular trail. Continue straight ahead after marking. Soon you pass over the rushing Tjöstelserödsbäcken and through Tjöstelseröds farm - an older farm environment.
About 200 meters thereafter the trail turns right and onto a forest trail. This is where the marking begins with wooden posts. You are most likely to pass through a gate and thus find yourself in Tjöstelseröd's nature conservation area with powerful, ancient oaks and varied nature - pastures, cultural land, brook ravines, powerful spruce forest and more.
Diverge from the trail to look up at the Silverfall. Return to the trail and hike into the stately spruce forest.
After about 100 meters you can follow the yellow mark to Muntra's cave. Via the trail you are right at the bridges over the creek and can look down over the fall.
Then follow the stream upstream and walk across the bridge. To the right, Lilla Skarsjön glitters between the trees. Feel free to take a break and feel the fresh water - so close to the salty sea.
The trail now leads you back towards Ljungskile. Soon you are in built-up areas, pass Ljungskile Folkhögskola and follow everyone to its end. Turn right, then walk across the railway crossing and you will arrive at the station plan and the destination.
